Nestled in the heart of Alveley, The Royal Oak has been a cherished gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. Following a comprehensive two-month renovation, we reopened our doors on March 27, 2025, ushering in a new era while honouring the pub’s rich heritage.

At the helm is James Greenhalgh, a seasoned chef and pub manager with over 30 years in the hospitality industry across Bridgnorth and the surrounding areas. Alongside James is Rachel Swinscoe, bringing her own flair and dedication to ensuring every guest feels at home.

The Royal Oak boasts a charming façade, complemented by a spacious 70-seat restaurant, a cosy bar area, and a delightful conservatory that opens onto a serene back garden and terrace – perfect for alfresco dining or a relaxed drink in the sun.

We’ve introduced a new menu that pays homage to traditional favourites while embracing contemporary flavours. Our renowned Sunday Roast remains a highlight, offering hearty, home-cooked meals that have long been a staple for our patrons.

From flame-grilled steaks and sizzling hotplates to stacked burgers, slow-cooked roasts, and all time favourites. Whether you’re after a hearty Sunday lunch, a midweek mixed grill, or a lunch cob and pint by the fire, you’ll find something here that hits the spot.

Our menus are packed with choice. Tuck into a classic 10oz rump, go all-in with our Mega Mixed Grill, or try something different like Cajun tuna steak or tandoori chicken on the sizzler.
